So after taking delivery of my brand new Surly Cross-Check and treating it to a constant battery of mud and muck I decided that a dose of Frame Saver might be appropriate. Some rust runs had developed near the exposed threads of the rack and fender mounts.
So last week I tore the Surly down to the bare frame and fork and gave it a liberalĀ treatment of the nasty rust hating stuff.

I was surprised how much the frame and fork weigh by themselves.
This prom queen runner up could skip a few meals.
I also decided to doa quick and dirty treatment of my IRO fixed gear.
I pulled the seat post and the fork to get some of this nasty goo in there.
A little insurance for my travels to snow and rain country.
