As some of you know I and some family members went on a short tour of Northern California. We started in Alturas, CA and finished in Downieville, CA. The original course was supposed to be almost four hundred miles but, through the course of certain events it was shortened to 240miles. Over the next several days I will tell you guys about my short yet eventful ride through California. We drove from Meadow Vista (45  min. north of Sac.) to Alturas (5 hour drive) on Saturday July 26. We arrived at Alturas a small town just 45 miles from the Oregon border. We checked in to our hotel and went out to find something to eat. Of course we headed for an Italian restaurant where we could feast on pasta. After having dinner and we took some time to check our bikes out. On Sunday Morning we headed South, for the town of Fall River Mills. It turned out to be our toughest day. There was a some climbing involved and some really fun down hill but the biggest problem was the relentless wind. It wasn’t very windy in the morning but as the day progress the wind picked up.  Towns we saw on Sunday: Alutras, Canby, Adin, Bieber, Nubieber, MacArthur and Fall River Mills.

All of our bikes loaded on the back of my wife’s aunts sweet van!

A quick pic of Reno, NV as we drive to Alturas.

Five of the six cast of characters who went our trip. From left to right: Roger (Ill teach you kids how to really ride), KK, Candice, myself, and Zac (Mr. I don’t need any stinking training). Not pictured Candice’s aunt Lisa.

On our way from Alturas to Fall River Mills a 75 mile ride.
