You are probably all wondering how did the Climb to Kaiser go…in short it went great.  It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.  First of all I want to thank everyone who came out to support us on the ride.  Candice, Zak’s bride to be and her parents came out to make sure we made it the whole way.  So we thank you and owe you big time.  They followed us the whole time taking pictures and being a mobile rest stop, which sometimes the other riders used as well.  Which is fine with us anything we can do to help a fellow rider, so if they needed water, fruit, or just a place to rest and chat our mobile rest stop was open to them.

Now on to the ride there were four of us Zak, Isaac, Justin, and myself.  The course itself was nice, for the most part it was out of populated areas and we started early enough to avoid traffic.  When I say early I mean early we got there at 5am and started at around 5:30am *yawn*….just talking about it makes me tired.  The flats weren’t to bad they were relatively short which was nice.  The hills were crazy steep illusions, every time I would turn a corner there would be another one staring me in the face.  There was a guy on a tandem with his little girl that I was riding next to for a bit, I told him that this must be an illusion because the hill never seems to end he just laughed and we kept on pedaling.  My favorite part was the downhill it was so fast and far, of course I am pretty big guy so that extra weight really helps when going downhill….weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  Okay sorry had to get that out of my system.

I was particularly proud of Justin this was his first real long road ride and he did great, he made it the whole way so props to you Justin take a bow.  As for Zak and Isaac they did great, Zak is always a great puller and Isaac is a great mini me.  As for me I had a blast I lagged it on the up hills for sure, but the down hills I flew.  There was no King of the Mountain awards for me on Saturday.

My only complaints were that my chain fell off three times, but that’s a different story.  I will be investigating on why this was happening and see what can be done to rectify the situation.  When I figure it out I will do a post on it.  Also there was a lot of smoke but that only was a problem at the very beginning, once we got a ways out it was easier to breath.

All an all it was a great ride, thanks to all who participated or put on the Climb to Kaiser you all were great.  So keep on pedaling everyone.
