I have a pair of goggles I bought at the National Atomic Museum. They were made for the Department Of Energy to protect the eyes of nuclear test observers. When atmo testing was banned, they were packed away for future use in case the ban was lifted. It wasn't and the museum snapped them up by the case and put them on sale for $15 a pop. So a bought a pair.

When you're wearing them, a bright summer day looks like a moonlit night. It's quite nice, actually. Wearing them while riding might be suicide, though.

When there's large amounts of dust in the air, I just ride with my eye closed. It works well.

Kase, Whenever I ride north of woodward park I try to take my sunglasses with me. The dust is terrible.

I generally only ride in short, half-hour hops. So dehydration doesn't really factor. But the windblown dust is killing me. I'm just not used to dry weather and honestly, I've begun seriously considering drastic measures. Like wearing goggles.

I use the same exact bottle (2 x 20 Oz.). They are great for shorter rides ... but I had to break down and buy a Camelbak last week after running dry on the trail after 1 hour.

Now I use the bottles for Gatorade.
