Do you have any dogs that like to chase you on your commute? I have a few but they are slow and overweight, much like the annoyed drivers I encounter in the morning. 
Luckily I ride through town where there are not many loose dogs. Out in the country though its every man for himself. If you cant sprint you better carry a big stick!
Here is a cute little ghetto dog I saw this morning:
He was harmless but his buddies may not be.

What is it about bicyclists that sends dogs over the edge? My neighbor has a dog that I can walk past a thousand times without him so much as batting an eye. But the moment he sees me on a bike, it’s like he thinks “Oh, shit! Centaurs are coming for us all! Attack!”.
Its the chase they want to chase something. I think they see us a giant stick thats been thrown

I’ve got a few that come after me on my way to work. I commute 5.5 miles each way and most of that is through Madera Acres, so there are lots of dogs. Usually when I stop and scream ‘WHAT!?!?!’, they go away. Sometimes, they don’t. I’m considering pepper spray.
Yeah you could get some dog mace, thats what the post office people use.
