I bought my new rack and trunk bag recently from Cycle Path Bicycles here in Fresno. Don expressed to me that he would like to get something similar. He needs to carry his laptop, extra clothes, and other computer dude items between the two locations where he must manage “The Network”. Don also told me that Michael is interested in a rack/bag combo also. I have the rack to carry my lunch and get groceries. Don and Michael have technical jobs that require the transport of data and equipment.
Don is also in search of a new saddle for his road bike. With all of these needs in mind I have been looking for various products at local bike shops to fill these needs.
I saw this saddle at the shop where Don bought his felt. I was on a mission to get a new cable adjuster to replace his broken one.
This saddle is called “The Stinger”. I chuckled to myself when I saw the name.
I dont think Don would like this one too much.

While waiting for My nephew Brandon to close Tri-Sport Bicycles last night I saw an innovative idea under the saddle of a new “Trek Lime” bike.

A TRUNK????

How cool is that????
It looks big enough to hold keys, a cell phone and a small wallet.
I’m impressed.
By the way if you haven’t seen or heard of the “Trek Lime” bicycle it is a 3 speed automatic shifting bicycle that might change the world of leisure bicycling as we know it.
It is the 4 door 4 cylinder Honda Accord of bicycles. Cool for the cruisers.

I would like to have one for trips to the store.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI can’t wait to be all saddle bagged out :), it should look great on my fix gear.
I have to suggest an “etc.”
I’ve always had a kiddie bell on my commuter, mostly for fun, but sometimes to let people know I was there when I wasn’t sure if they saw me. Following a recent “incident” (which killed my bell by the way), I decided to go large. I found a great new bell at Steven’s, and the guys at Performance (who thought I was joking at first) turned me on to the coolest horn ever. It’s like a clear dome that sits right on top of my stem, a quick tap lets out two nice loud beeps. I’ve actually used it a lot in just a few days when I’m approaching cell-phone drivers, people walking around parked cars and anyone else who might need a “wake-up”. The bell makes people smile, but I think the horn is a little better for safety.
Be seen, follow the traffic laws, gain respect!
C-Fiddy Give us a link to your super bell.
Here’s the bell I got at Stevens:

As I was searching for it, I just found this great post about all this “noise”:

Nice, that horn doesn’t look all that useful but I believe you if you say its great.
I need to visit Portland sounds like an oasis in the cycling desert.
