So this weekend was a good weekend for riding even with the rain. Saturday Zak, Brandon, Sunny, and I went out riding in the rain which was a lot of fun except we forgot our shoe covers which meant our shoes had puddles in them. Riding in the raid though makes you feel pretty good about yourself.

Imagine riding around 40 miles in the rain with cars going by with all these peoples faces going W…T…F. It utterly amazes people that someone is actually riding a bicycle in weather that they hate to drive in. Its a great sense of accomplishment and fun to boot. It was a lot of fun and all the guys riding had great attitudes so that made for a great ride.

Then on Monday Zak and I went out for a nice long ride how long we didn’t know yet but we soon found out. Oh and someone was supposed to go and didn’t I don’t want to name names or point figures but *Cough* C-Fiddy, sorry about that something in my throat. Maybe next time :) .

So we were riding up Auberry road and Zak being the social cyclist that he is made friends with a group of riders about six to be exact. We asked them were they were going and they were headed towards Humphrey’s Station so Zak got that big smile and looked at me, and I knew I was in for a big ride. So since we are always up for something new and exciting we tagged along with them, unfortunately we have no pictures because we thought it was going to rain and left the camera at home.

It was a great ride very pretty and smelled great out there, the only unfortunate thing that happened was a big truck that decided it hated us. This lady in a truck decided to buzz each of us and honk her horn right next to each one of us. She was maybe 6 inches from my handlebars and I think her mirror went over my head which scared the you know what out of me. Gotta hate those kinds of people, but around here it is more common than one might think.

We continued on and made it to Humphrey’s Station which the people out there are very nice and very bike friendly so it was a real treat. Its a great place to take a break and recharge your goods, they have water, juice, Gatorade, and cookies to buy. As well as it being a diner so if you really wanted a meal you could get one, I hear they make great tasting food….I will have to stop there sometime for a bite. Zak had to check my bike over one of the cable adjusters snapped so I couldn’t use some of my gears and the ones I could use were not so friendly.

So we headed home and a couple miles from home we found that we were very low on calories and started to really feel the burn. I also started to act a little stupid…..no comments needed on this portion of the post :) . Once we got back Zak jimmy rigged my bike to work until I bought the piece I needed to make it right. Then continued on my way to my house and that was an adventure of its own because my body had gotten cold so I felt a bit stiff, so it took a second to get warmed up enough so not to make grunting noises on the bike. Grunting cyclist scare small children just FYI :)

All together it was a great riding weekend got in some great miles something like 40 on Saturday and 58 on Monday. So hope to see you all out there.

Everyone be safe and keep on pedaling
