Monday Don and I set out to ride about 35 miles on our usual loop to the Millerton store and then back along Friant road. About 8 miles out we caught up with an eclectic group of riders and decided to tag along with them. After climbing up to the Millerton store we all decided to head toward Humphrey’s Station. I enjoyed the ride very much. Don was having trouble with his front dérailleur and at the 26 mile turnaround point, I discovered that the cable adjuster screw on his frame was broken causing some seriously wonky shifting and chainrub. Feeling defeated we gobbled up some cookies, took on some water and headed back. Near the end of the ride both Don and I were calorie deficient for the day about 600 calories in and about 3000 output. Yay weight loss! anyway we made it back to my place, watched the last 3 stages of the Giro d Italia and called it a day.
Great ride, long ride, great base miles.
Shift when the road steepens.
