So yeah it was a long…long…long ride, but I loved every minute of it and it was a great experience. So up to this point the longest ride I had ever done was 33 miles, well as of Sunday my longest ride is 80 miles….nice jump
. I always figured that if you put your mind to it anything is possible, I have to say that yesterday was a definite test of that. It pushed me farther than I had ever been, I was so exhausted and sore that just walking was painful.
The ride itself had a few challenges
falling over while doing my reverse moonwalk
Zak’s words, breaking my pedal, getting chased by a dog, and finally being craped on by a bird. But all of that was the fun part, the hard part about that whole ride was having to look at Zak’s butt for 80 miles…..
actually the hard part is just putting one foot in front of the other. You are going so far on a straight and flat route that it may drive some to insanity, others of us find comfort in knowing at the end we have accomplished something.
Once we got back I attempted to get into my truck only to find that it hurt like hell and almost didn’t make it. When I reached home my roommate gave me a hand getting out and getting the bike back inside….thanks again bro. I proceeded to shower which was one of the greatest things ever except trying to wash my legs
. Then ate some yummy protein, after eating I took some advil and drank probably eight glasses of water. I was so thirsty, I was amazed that no matter how much I drank I was still thirsty. For the remainder of the evening I laid in bed stretched out, to avoid cramping.
This morning I am not in a lot of pain like yesterday, I am just really sore and looking forward to the next test of endurance. I have to thank Zak for not giving up on me and calling in the support to pick me up, he was right there making sure I was still alive and re-hydrating the whole time so heres to Zak *cheers*……*Don takes two more Advil and a swig of whiskey*
So keep on riding everyone and watch out for crazy fast dogs ![]()
