So on Thursday night, Don, my Dad, Brandon my nephew and Myself drove to San Luis Obispo to stay at my friend Nick’s house so we could be just a short trip to the Amgen Tour Of California Time Trial in Solvang Ca.

The time trial in the Tour Of California is the most important stage in the race next to the opening prologue time trial. For the most part throughout the daily stages where the riders race in a group and unless some poor sap decides to solo minutes ahead of the group all of the riders finish with the same time.

Levi was able to gain about a minute on the next rider in contention Fabian Cancellara. David Millar from Slipstream and Christian VandeVelde from Slipstream were able to make up 30 or so seconds on Cancellara and take the second and third place wins overall.

It was a Great day for the Astana team, the Slipstream Chipotle team, and american cyclists everywhere.

Our group was sitting on the first little hill on the time trial course in order to capture the best pictures possible. As it turns out we were also captured on the national TV coverage on the VERSUS channel. I saw all of us three times in a row as the camera motorcycles and helicopters followed the top 4 racers. I sadly do not have the Versus TV videos to show you but here are some great pictures.
