My ride home yesterday was pleasant and warm.

This morning was wet beard foggy.
I ride alluvial avenue most of the way on my commute. Alluvial is not nearly as busy as many other streets in the morning or afternoon. I also choose Alluvial because the pavement is in very good condition compared to other streets I could take (Sierra ave for example). My only gripe is the bike lanes are just stupid.
What is this?
A nice tidy little bike lane that abruptly stops into a curb and a light post.

Bike lanes that start all of a sudden are funny also.
On Alluvial Ave they usually only last about a quarter of a mile.

Did I mention it was cold and foggy and dark? Burrrr.

As summer comes the photographic quality will improve I promise.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIt is amazing how many bike lanes we have that are like that, or worse. It seems they just keep building short pieces. I have to wonder if it wouldn’t be better to use the money to start connecting the ones we have now rather than just to keep adding more disjointed pieces.
While traveling in to work on Alluvial this morning I looked down and it appeared I was coated with a layer of ice! (I wasn’t, but for some reason in the wet fog it sure looked that way.) All I could think was, cooool.
I think that would be the exact thing that would come to my mind as well. Rock on
